Monsey Man Wins $1 Million Lottery Ticket

nylSpring Valley – Quicken Food, also known as Open Everyday Convenience, recently sold its second big winning lottery ticket in two years.

The New York State Lotterys Yolanda Vega will present the store’s most recent winner, a Monsey resident, with the winning jackpot prize of $1 million at the convenience store at 29 S. Main St. in Spring Valley on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

When he won the jackpot he was so happy, he didnt know whether he was a winner or not, said Store manager Saleem Shezmin, of the Monsey man. He showed it to us and we said Yes, of course you are the winner! He was nervous and happy and then he went home.

Shezmin said the winner is a regular and usually buys two to 10 scratch-off tickets that are each $2 to $10 each when he comes into the store. The gambler purchased the winning $1 million Cash Blast scratch-off about a month ago. Quicken Food also sold a $3 million winning lottery ticket about two years ago.

Shezmin said he made sure the Monsey resident signed the ticket so that it couldnt be stolen from him.

You never know, said Shezmin. Anything can happen. We are very happy for him and to have a big winner from the store.
