Education Minister Piron Hospitalized

pironMinister of Education (Yesh Atid) Rabbi Shai Piron was taken to Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikvah on Thursday night, 5 Tammuz 5773 upon his return from Poland. Piron was a member of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahus delegation to Poland, where they officially dedicated the new museum at Auschwitz.

The minister was complaining of chest pain and not feeling well during the flight home. Arrangements were made for a MDA paramedic ambulance to meet the flight.

Professor Ron Kornofski, who heads Beilinsons cardiology unit, reports the minister is resting comfortably and remains hospitalized for observation. A number of tests were performed and the decision was made to keep him overnight.

The delegation dedicated the permanent pavilion at Block 27 at Auschwitz-Birkenau. During the ceremony Prime Minister Netanyahu said, “The leaders of the Allies knew about the Holocaust in real time. They understood exactly what was happening in the death camps. They were asked to act, they could have acted, and they did not. To Jews the lesson is clear. We must not be complacent in the face of threats of annihilation. We must not bury our heads in the sand or allow others to do the work for us.

From here, the place that attests to the desire to destroy us, I, the Prime Minister of Israel, the state of the Jewish People, say to all the nations of the world: The State of Israel will do whatever is necessary to prevent another holocaust.”

Oh really? Like what? Give away more land to Arabs who want to kill us? Force Yeshiva Bachurim to close their Gemorahs?

I listened to Netanyahu’s speech and it reeked from ‘kochi v’oezem yadi’ even more than is quoted above. Unfortunately he took home the wrong lesson from the holocaust.
Speaking of lessons, I hope that Piron realizes that chest pains are always a good time to take personal stock and learn some lessons.

Those who fight against the Eibishte and his holy Torah will suffer and pay for it. Piron is one of those.
