NY Senator Kirsten Gillibrand apologized and promised to “do better” after a restaurant owner posted a video of her “blowing past [the] manager” and ignoring the Innovo Kitchen’s mask requirement.
“The problem with NY politics in a nutshell,” the restaurant owner wrote on Instagram. “My Senator blowing past my manager before she can even ask her to put a mask on. Walking right past a really big sign that says ‘masks required to enter,'”.
“The masks are a mandate from the Governor. As good citizens, agree or not, we must follow our leaders. Her guest is graciously wearing one. I guess Senator Gillibrand thinks that the Governor is wrong or she is special and above the rules,” the post continued.

Or maybe Amil Zola, the right response would be for all of us not follow these idiotic rules. If the people who set these unscientific anti-freedom decrees refuse to follow them why should we? Don’t use the dina demalchusa argument because that doesn’t work
I forget to put on my mask sometimes, when I go from outside to inside (and forget I can take it off when I go inside to outside). It means I am forgetful, not a hypocrite. The video shows, at best, that some blond lady forgot to put on her mask, for about four seconds, and nothing about blowing past anybody.
Instead of this video, why not post the video of Trump riding around in a car full of secret service agents when he was sick with Covid at Walter Reade hospital. Maybe that is not hypocritical, just utterly irresponsible and contemptible of the government employees who protect his life. On the other hand, the secret service agents are supposed to take bullets for the president, so a little Covid is no big deal, right?
When speaking no masks are worn.
Should she have worn a mask to enter? Yes, however, it’s a restaurant where you can remove the mask to eat, it’s not a campaign rally! For this one video, you can probably find hundreds of pictures of her in other venues with a mask.

Usually a partition in the front of a restaurant means wait to be seated. Gilibrand clearly doesn’t care for anybody’s rules .
She walked past the manager to take her seat. Notice her friend did not come along. Why? Because he or she waited to be seated. Gilibrand feels that she’s too important.
