Harlem Prepares For Possible Historic Celebration

os.jpgAs the United States is on the verge of making history by potentially electing the first African America President, the Harlem community of northern Manhattan has planned a community-style gathering that will host guests in the thousands to watch the election results on a jumbotron television screen.

Participants will gather to watch the jumbo screen on 125th Street on the west side of Manhattan between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. Thousands are expected to gather in support of Senator Barack Obama and Harlem’s own Congressman Charles B. Rangel.

The heavily populated Democratically African American community will hear election results from local and national political leaders as voters are kept abreast of the night’s outcome.

All are welcome to join residents of northern Manhattan as they congregate to watch election returns outside of the Harlem State Office Building near Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard.

Harlem’s own Rangel will lead this historic event being hosted by MLK Jr. Democrats, Roger Toussaint and TWU Local 100. They will be joined by community leaders and local elected officials to provide state by state returns as anxious voters await election night results.

Obama’s bid to become the first black president faced the final test of his remarkable two-year journey Tuesday, while Republican John McCain pressed for an Election Day upset.

Polls are now open in 26 states and Washington, D.C. including the key battleground states of Virginia, Florida and Pennsylvania.

Anyone who is Jewish and would vote for Senator Obama just hasn’t done their research or has really poor judgment. Connections aside……what political accomplishments does he have? Thanks bubby

I just hope everyone’s passports are in order. People have been saying for the last 60 years NEVER AGAIN. Obviously only the ribono shel olam is in charge of that. It’s obvious from the fact that many Jews don’t have the sechel not to vote for a guy who has given us so many clear signals of trouble.

When Homon and Achashveirosh came to power it triggered Teshuva and Yeshua for K’lal Yisroel in golus. Let’s learn from that historic event.

American Blacks should be proud. Their history in America has been a painful one.
