A delegation of 10 dispatched by Cairo left earlier in the week for the American-Mexican border to obtain a first-hand look at American technology at work along the border, detecting and destroying tunnels.

One of the processes they hope to observe is the detonation of explosives at a certain depth below ground, which reportedly creates enough of a shockwave to destroy tunnels.

The technology was already deployed in the past by Israel, and Jerusalem recommended to the Egyptians to acquire the technology but Egypt decided� to pass on the opportunity.
