A 10-month-old infant from the Western Galil area is reported in serious condition following four days in Nahariya Hospital. The infant�s parents noticed a wound on his leg and took him to a local medical clinic where he was treated.
After a number of days, his leg became swollen, compelling the parents to bring him to Nahariya Hospital. Tests revealed the infant was infected with a powerful systemic infection and he remains in an intensive care unit.
The child has undergone surgical procedures to treat and debried the infected muscle tissue as well as �aggressive� intravenous antibiotic therapy.
