Israel: The Uncertainty is the Hardest

Marking three years since IDF soldier Gilad Shalit was taken captive by Hamas, Mr. Noam Shalit, his father, explains the not knowing and the uncertainty are the hardest, aware that as the nation marks three years since the young soldier was taken hostage in a cross-border attack, no one has seen him to confirm his condition.

Speaking at a memorial marking the yahrzeit of Lt. Chanan Barak HYD, who was killed in the very same Hamas attack in Kerem Shalom, Mr. Shalit stated he and supporters are continuing public activities to expedite Gilads release. Also killed in the attack was IDF Sgt. Pavel Slotzker HYD.

For Nila Barak, Chanans mother, time does not heal. Three years have passed but it seems like yesterday. The pain does not diminish. The emotional pain joins the physical pain. It does not heal. It is most difficult.
