Police boarded an EasyJet flight that originated in Tel Aviv after it made an unscheduled landing in Luton England to �prevent a possible �breach of the peace� by a group of strictly Orthodox Jewish men�.
According to a Jewish Chronicle report on Wednesday 19 Shevat, the flight in question departed on Monday at 14:55. The problems began when chareidi passengers insisted they be seated next to men and not women. They refused to take their assigned seats. There was a delay as they reportedly blocked the aisle until some females voluntarily agreed to change seats to accommodate them.
The Jewish Chronicle report quoting passengers on the flight states ten men were involved, describing them as �ten men in black hats� who refused to be seated and then blocking the aisle.
Later into the flight, one of the men plugged his cell phone into the control panel area for one of the cabin crew, causing exit lights to turn on. A crew member instructed the man to remove the phone charger, explaining he was compromising the safety of the flight.
The airline said: �easyJet can confirm that flight EZY2084 from Tel Aviv to Luton on 13 February 2017 was met by police on arrival at London Luton due to a small group of passengers behaving disruptively by not complying with the captain and cabin crew�s request to take their seats both prior to departure from Tel Aviv and during the flight.
�For the safety of all passengers easyJet�s crew must ensure that whenever the seat belt signs are illuminated all passengers are in their seats with their seatbelts fastened.
�easyJet�s cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.
�Separately during the flight a passenger plugged a mobile device into a USB port on the crew control panel in the forward galley in a foolish attempt to charge it.
“This led to the exit light above the panel being illuminated but did not in any way comprise the safety or security of the aircraft.�
Local police escorted the ten men off the flight. It does not appear that anyone was placed under arrest.

While I fully believe some people might have made a fuss, many others also made a fuss. What’s the difference WHY they wanted to switch seats? If they are asking politely, and there isn’t much of a difference (someone isn’t losing a “preferred” seat), why can’t people accommodate? If it was a mother and child, nobody would have made an emergency landing; people would have willingly complied.
I have no doubt that some “feminists” refused to accommodate SOLELY based on not being DEMEANED by “BACKWARDS” men. No doubt these same people will appropriate hijabs and purport to love and tolerate Muslims – who have no qualms doing the worst crimes to women and considering them subhuman property.

Its not only preferred seats that are problematic, some passengers desire aisle seats to stretch cramped legs & knees or need quick access to bathroom facilities. Some passengers need the window seat to lean on, sleep or for solitude. When a passenger must only be seated near a male he has to make those arrangements by buying two seats, asking his travel agent to check out possibilities, buy 3 men seats together or plan responsibly.

Number 5 yes on flight to isreal my wife was harrassed by a crummy demanding that she change seats I told him to back off or I would sit him down. He was escourted off plane

My daughter was on this flight. Several corrections. Firstly wasn’t unscheduled stop the final destination was luton. Secondly the problem started because these men wanted to daven mincha & didn’t ask crew if they can so blocked aisles. Some of these men made problems due to seating arrangements. It was unpleasant on both the crews side & due to these men who don’t know proper way to behave in public.

While at an amusement park with my wife on Chol Hamoed, I was pushed by many high-school age girls, (who most likely didn’t realize they were pushing a man) in their haste to meet up with their friends. I believe most of these issues are due to not paying attention to the world.

Airline aisle seats are very narrow and people davening block the aisle. People might have lots of good reasons to move up and down the aisle and not be encombered by someone davening like going to the bathroom, going to check up on their kids , just to stretch out (This is an issue on planes)
Someones Mincha is not more important than someones elses reasons for needed to walk in the Aisle.
There are alot of reasons why people would not want to move, Maybe they like their seats because of leg room, Maybe their kids or family members are near by.

#Comfortablyhiemish as a frequent easyjet flyer from Luton to tel aviv I can confirm that easyjet do allow Mincha and are very accommodating to it unlike our “Jewish” airline elal.. However they usually allocate a time for it and I have seen on a number of occasions where they tell people that they are gonna arrange it later but they just get up and try to start there own minyan.
As many frum Jews here in England will tell you, the JC isn’t exactly the UK’s most pro Chareidi newspaper. I strongly suspect that there are some important facts missing from this story.
