About the drug companies–you just have to do a bit of research to find out that vaccines are the fastest growing segment of the US pharmaceutical industry. Some of the recent vaccines to emerge have been blockbusters–making over half a billion dollars a year (Gardasil, Prevnar), so it is really foolish to think that they have our best interests in mind–they are a profit-making business like any other.
