Just to clarify, I davened at the “alumni minyan” in our yeshiva, not the main yeshiva minyan. There was one person (not the main gabbai) who was in charge of giving out all of the psicha’s. Before shmona esrei of Neila he asked the gabbai to do psicha. The gabbai then turned to me and asked me to do it. I assume this was because he realized that he probably wouldn’t be done with his own silent shmona esrei.
