Goq,when my once-sterling reputation was literally destroyed,I said Hashem must be testing me to see if I will serve Him without any admiration from others whatsoever.If I told you that was easy,I’d be lying.But I’m happy to say,I served Him from the mud.
Of course,over time,you develop an “inner circle” of people you can really trust,and SOME of that crazy pain fades,but it’s not ever going to not bother you at all.
