Keep doing what you’re doing. If the kid is waking up in the middle of the night and kvetching, or feverish, you can give him some children’s Advil/Motrin. This lasts about 8 hours, so they (and you) will have a restful night. URI’s can last a few days to two weeks. You’ll get used to it – I did.
