yytz: Is there a status halacha concerning Leviim of which I am not aware? I have a friend who’s wife is a convert. She converted conservative and they had children including one son. She was made to reconvert (obviously) al pi halacha (as well as the kids) but the Rav poskened that their son was still a kosher Levite. I never quite understood this.
