Have you ever been in hospital with DKA ..? Thank G-d i wasn’t (near?! i hope!) the extreme ..
They didn’t give me insulin straight away (away for shabbos..went first to local “hospital” which wasn’t much of hospital after all..) they hooked me to i.v’s on either arm (one for the fluid and one for the insulin) … … BH by morning the ketones finally broke to be readable..
Still before they gave me the insulin, i was throwing up bile and begged for insulin, a little later i thought it’s almost ironic that i’m finding insulin “the enemy” but here i am begging for it!
Yes, life can be ironic sometimes! It’s just our job to try to learn from it..
